CAPS Roundup
We launched the Community Ambulatory Paediatric Service (CAPS) in in January 2023 to provide Leeds with a service that provides assessment, care and treatment to children with acute respiratory symptoms. Here's what the service achieved from January 2023 to April 2024.
We offered 14,012 appointments.
97% Of patient's families would recommend CAPS to family and friends
89% appointment utilisation
95% Of patient's families were satisfied with their consultation
81% of surveyed service users said they would have considered using A&E or an Urgent Care service had they not have been offered an appointment in CAPS.
If this were true, based on attended appointments it would have meant:
2,140 more GP appointments
3,686 more attendances to WIC/UTC
3,924 more paediatric attendance to ED
Quote from practice managers:
Excellent resource for the city. Our patients that have used it have nothing but praise.
Very efficient, massive help with demand for appointments.
Data relates to the period between 23rd January 2023 and 28th April 2024.
